Under the direction of the LC-MS Scientist, this position is responsible for operating and maintaining analytical laboratory instrumentation such as LC, ICP-MS, LC-MS, GC-MS, GC-MS/MS, LC-MS/MS, and LC-MS QTOF; ensuring compliance with laboratory protocols; effectively implementing all rules for reporting results; analyzing all test samples and interpreting results; developing and modifying techniques to improve the detection of banned substances; ensuring accurate and complete documentation of test samples and results; preparing result packages to be presented to the Legal office; participating in on-going research projects; and maintaining a clean, safe, and secure laboratory environment. This position may also assist in other Laboratory tasks as needed.
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, or related field required.
Minimum of two years of experience working in a forensic laboratory and familiarity with operation of LC-MS required.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must have good manual dexterity, good analytical and problem solving skills, good organizational skills, and be capable of working effectively with others.
Ability to alternately stand and sit for long periods during sample preparation or analysis. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. without assistance.
