High Performance Department Overview:

Through a systematic, evidence led approach, provide all male and female senior and youth national teams with world class performance and medical support that is internally respected and globaly envied.  Develop and retain world experts throughout the performance pathway including physical, medical, technical/tactical and psychological development.

By retaining and developing internal experts and knowledge, develop specific research, data and analysis to ensure that all challenges have specific, proven and prior experience/evidence that can be utilized to provide the ultimate performance support for each and every team, player and eventuality.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide performance support for MYNT as requested by the High Performance Director (HPD)
  • Travel extensively with MYNT to training camps and games both within the United States and abroad
  • Support and guide MYNT coaches in training, planning, and implementation
  • Partners with the medical staff to ensure all testing, screening, monitoring and return to play protocols are optimized and delivered
  • In conjunction with USSF standards, provide monitoring, testing, S&C, and nutrition support to all players within the training camps
  • Ensure all data is collected and stored correctly and disseminated to all required staff and players in line with the USSF standards
  • Build strong relationships with player’s clubs and academic institutes to gather feedback required for performance information
  • Provide performance education to players when required

Other Responsibilities: 

  • Contribute to the education of staff and coaches within the Federation and those enrolled into Federation specific qualification pathways.
  • Support the department with research within performance and medicine
  • Support the development of internal resources required within the High Performance Department
  • Support the development of any performance per-diem staff as required
  • Any other reasonable requests made by the HPD to ensure optimal service for the USSF

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of practical performance experience within elite sport
  • Bachelor degree in Sports Science, Kinesiology, Physiology or related field (or equivalent
  • Master degree preferred
  • Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) Accreditation (or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of and experience with performance requirements for adult and youth athletes
  • Experience working in collaboration with coaches and other support staff
  • Significant experience working with GPS and other monitoring systems
  • First Aid and CPR certification
  • Proficient in computer with software such as: Microsoft Office and Video Editing
  • Strong verbal, written, in-person and presentation communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, data collection, planning and leadership skills
