Under supervision of the Director of Licensed Officials, this position provides advanced, administrative assistance to the Director and department staff. Primary responsibilities include general clerical tasks, assisting with scheduling and organizing meetings and clinics, managing files and information flow, preparing and distributing communications and materials, maintaining spreadsheets and programs as assigned; communicating internally and externally; and providing logistical support for US Equestrian and FEI clinics and courses which may include travel to these events. Secondary responsibilities include working on special projects, performing research, and other duties as assigned. This position regularly interacts with the Director and other US Equestrian directors, staff, members, committees, and the public.
EDUCATION - High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE - At least one year documented secretarial or administrative experience required. Knowledge of the equine industry and US Equestrian rules preferred.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES - Must be proficient in the use of standard office equipment, MS Office applications, and the Internet. Must be detail-oriented and able to work with minimal supervision. Must have effective data entry skills, excellent organizational skills, and strong oral and written communication skills. Must exhibit exceptional customer service skills, including tact and diplomacy to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - Ability to sit for long periods, work at a computer for long periods of time, and lift up to 25 lbs. Some travel may be required.
